About the Alton Water Ski and Wakeboard Club

The Alton Water Ski Club was founded on August 23, 1955. They were well known around the St Louis/ Southern Illinois area and performed at many special events in the area under the name Midwest Water Ski Show Productions. The Club was formed with the purpose of promoting the sport and recreation of water skiing, water safety, good sportsmanship, aquatic events, kindred and similar sports, and good fellowship. The Search for Grimbeard’s Treasure

Legends have it that Grimbeard the Pirate once sailed the Alton Pool looting
and pillaging all he came upon. The grand treasure that he amassed is told to be
hidden somewhere in the pool but alas, Grimbeard and his crew along with his
ship be sent to Davey Jones locker in a violent storm leaving no known clues to
the whereabouts of the treasure. Come and watch the scallywags of the Alton pool vi for a place on the crew of the Renegade under Cap’n Tara Blue as they ski their way in search of the lost treasure of the famous pirate Grimbeard.

Its that time again. Time to sign up for the 2012 ski season. Indoor practices are just around the corner so make sure and turn in your club registration forms.
